Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs)
There are few guarantees in business. But with Canadian Western Bank, you're guaranteed exceptional service and a good rate with our WestEarner line of GICs. We offer you a range of fixed rate and floating rate investments. Also, if you'd like to increase your Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) coverage, you can obtain GICs from our wholly owned subsidiary Canadian Western Trust. All Canadian Western Bank branches offer our entire selection of GIC products and can sell GICs on behalf of Canadian Western Trust.
- Funds may be invested for terms from 30 days to 364 days
- A minimum investment of $5,000 is required
- Investments are non-redeemable prior to maturity
- The interest rate is guaranteed for the length of the term
- Investments may be set for automatic renewal at maturity

- Funds may be invested for a 3 year term or a 5 year term
- A minimum investment of $1,000 is required
- Investments are partially or fully redeemable on the annual anniversary date (for partial redemption's, the remaining investment must be $1,000 or more)
- The interest rate is calculated on a tiered system with each year's rate of interest increasing
- Interest may compound annually or be deposited into a CWB account on each anniversary date
- Investments may be set for automatic renewal at maturity

- Terms available from 30 days to 3 years
- A minimum deposit of $1,000 is required
- Deposit is redeemable at any time, however funds redeemed prior to 30 days pay no interest
- Funds redeemed on or after the 30th day and prior to maturity are not subject to interest penalty
- Partial redemption's are allowed if:
- the minimum partial withdrawal is $1,000
- the remaining term is at least 30 days
- The interest rate floats at the Canadian Western Bank Prime rate minus 2.25%
- Monthly interest is available to Gold Leaf PLUS® customers and must be paid into a Gold Leaf PLUS® Apex® or Peak Performance® Account
